一、谈话激趣，导入新课
我们中华民族是古老的民族，有着悠久的文化，我们有举世闻名的古代“四大发明”，有着无数的善于观察，勤于思索、勇于创造的古代科学家、发明家。我们的古人是有着无穷的聪明智慧的。你听，有两个古代的小孩儿，他们在为太阳争论起来了。
二、初读课文，读正确流利
1．教师范读课文。
2．学生初读课文，指出朗读有困难的地方。教师帮助解决。
3．再读课文，读正确流利。
三、结合注释，疏通文意
1．学生自学。
⑴先找出不理解的词、句，在文中记下来。

以：认为。去：距离。日中：正午，中午。
句意：一个小孩儿说：“我认为太阳刚出来时离人近一些，而中午时离人远一些。”

句意：另一个小孩认为太阳刚出来时离人远，而中午时离人近。
④一儿曰：“日初出大如车盖，及日中则如盘盂，此不为远者小而近者大乎？”

句意：第一个小孩儿说：“太阳刚出来的时候像车上的篷盖一样大，到了中午却像盘子一样小，这不是远的时候看起来小而近的时候看起来大的道理吗？”
⑤一儿曰：“日初出沧沧凉凉，及其日中如探汤，此不为近者热而远者凉乎？”
沧沧凉凉：形容清凉的感觉。探汤：把手伸到热水里去。汤，热水。
句意：另一个小孩儿说：“太阳刚出来的时候有清凉的感觉，到了中午却像把手伸进热水里一样暖和，这不是近的时候感觉热而远的时候感觉凉的道理吗？”
⑥孔子不能决也。
决：裁决，判断。
句意：孔子也不能判断谁是正确或错误。
⑦两小儿笑日：“孰为汝多知乎？”
孰：谁。汝：你。知：同“智”，智慧。
句意：两个小孩儿笑着说：“谁说你的知识渊博呢？”
四、再读课文，理解内容
1．的主要内容。
孔子在路上遇到两个站孩儿在争论太阳什么时候离人近，什么时候离人远。双方各有根据，争执一下，连孔子也无法裁决。
2．层次。
第一段（第1自然段）：写孔子看见两小儿在争辩，向他们询问原因。
第二段（第2—5自然段）：重点叙述了两小儿是怎样争辩的。
第一层（第2、3自然段）：写两小儿各自的观点。
第二层（第4、5自然段）：写两小儿各自的理由和依据。
第三段（第6、7自然段）：写孔子和两小儿的态度。
3．再读课文，体会辩斗过程。
(1)对于太阳在不同时间、距离地球远近这一问题，两小儿提出了两种截然不同的观点，并且都从日常生活中找出有力的证据来证明自己的观点是正确的，他们谁也不让准，最后请孔子裁决，可博学的孔子却也无法作出判断。看来，这是一场势力相当的辩斗，让我们用朗读再现当时两小儿辩日时的精彩。
(2)分角色指名朗读课文。
(3)学生分组分角色再读课文。
①师：两小儿都找理由来证明自已的观点是正确的。(生读)
②师：两小儿毫不相让，据理力争。(生读)
③师：两小儿越争越激动，坚持己见。(生读)
(4)师：两小儿你争我辩，双方相持不下，只好请博学的孔子来裁决，但出乎他们意料的是，孔子这么有学问、有智慧的人却也不知道这个问题，当孔子不能决也时，两小儿便情不自禁地笑曰——(生齐读最后两小儿说的话)。
四、明理启智，引导探究
1．读了这篇课文后，你明白了什么？
(1)学生畅所欲言。
(2)教师归纳。故事体现了两个小孩儿善于观察，说话有理有据，以及孔子实事求是的态度。
2．引导探究：在两千多年前，圣人孔子无法裁决的问题，到了科学技术迅猛发展的今天，你能否为两小儿的说法做一个公平的裁决呢？让他们心服口服。
